Time Capsules have been a method of communicating with future men ever since time began. Our digital time capsules allow users to create video “Time Capsule” messages to be discovered at a date in the future. A time capsule is a historic cache of goods or information, usually intended as a deliberate method of communication with future people, and to help future archaeologists, anthropologists, or historians.

There are a couple of ways you can get started, you can subscribe immediately from the home screen when you choose the “Get Started” button, or before you create an account, please feel free to use our free capsule templates to create your first video message to the future. After you record your video you will be prompted to sign up for a subscription. You have the opportunity to sign up on a monthly subscription, or choose to subscribe annually.

Click on the “Get Started” button on the home screen and subscribe to your choice of monthly or annual subscription.

First you may want to consider what media type you would like to put into your Time Capsule message to the future. You can choose from VIDEO, IMAGE, FILES OR TEXT Choose a capsule template or create your own capsule type, now it’s up to you to create the messages to the future, choose yourself a date that you would like your Time Capsule to open in the future and lock your video messages away to be discovered at a date you choose.

Once you have created your Digital Time Capsule items, please choose your future lock date, we also call this your hatch date. You can lock your Digital Time Capsule by choosing the “lock this capsule” button on the top right hand side of your Time Capsule template.

Once you have recorded your Time Capsules Videos to the future, all you need to do is to hit the “save” button and your video will upload to our secure time locked vault.

Upload of video always depends on your quality of Internet speed, however as a rule of thumb, we would suggest that a 10-minute video recorded straight from our web platform will complete its upload within a few mins. Please be aware, if you are uploading a prerecorded video, it may have been recorded in much higher resolution and may take longer to complete its upload. We always recommend you record straight from the video option in the web platform for the fastest and safest video uploads.

Depending on the quality and resolution of your images to be uploaded, you will find that a single image will usually be complete within a few seconds.

We are sorry, no you can not. We like to think that our Digital Time Capsules are buried away just like the metaphoric version. However we understand that there are certain circumstances that may require a need for the release of YOUR personal videos and content. In these situations, please contact administration at admin@encapsulator.io for early release of content. Thank you for your understanding.

YES, you may update your Time Capsules as often as you feel fit, maybe you are celebrating a milestone that you want to document or maybe you just want to update it. We recommend you update your Digital Time Capsules monthly at the very least. Please select the “Add Video” and create your content. Also, don’t forget to itemise each piece of content with a description. Have fun!
